The device has a 2-stage drive motor (1), for providing an initial screw tightening stage, used to reach a preset screw tightness, followed by a final tightening stage, with measurement of the screw tightness via an incorporated overhead measuring device, coupled to a tightening control (20), providing switching signals for the drive motor, in dependence on the measured surface pressure.
