The invention relates to a brace (1) for a roof construction consisting of individual roof tiles (2, 2'), in particular for a canopy roof (4) on a wall (5), which uses supporting struts (6) positioned between the roof tiles (2, 2') and the wall (5). In order to take into account inevitable structural tolerances in the connection zone between the supporting struts (6) and the wall (5), the abutting edges of adjacent roof tiles (2, 2') can be aligned and the inclination of the entire roof construction can be modified in relation to the wall (5). To this end, the supporting strut (6) is variable in length and is connected to two adjacent roof tiles (2, 2') by means of a cross-brace (8) which runs at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the supporting strut (6).
