The invention concerns a pressure cooking apparatus comprising a vessel (1) and a lid (7) designed to be locked on the vessel (1) with locking/unlocking means independent of the grip means (10, 11) of the apparatus. The invention is characterised in that the grip means (10, 11) are capable of being removably mounted on the vessel (1) by fast coupling means (30, 21, 22) integral with the vessel and grip means (10, 11) forming respectively first (30) and second (21, 22) coupling means, the first coupling means (30) being permanently fixed on the vessel (1) such that the grip means (10, 11) designed to be mounted thereon is not removable from said first means (30) when the lid (7) is locked on the vessel (1). The invention is applicable to bayonet-type pressure cookers.
