<p>The panoramic image display system comprises an annular screen (5) and a three-dimensional annular reflector coaxial with the annular screen. The annular reflector (6) flares toward the annular screen to reflect inwardly a panoramic image produced on the annular screen and display this panoramic image on a virtual surface. Preferably, the annular screen flares in the same direction as the annular reflector. For example, the annular screen and reflector can present the general configuration of a frustum of cone or sphere. In accordance with a non limitative embodiment, the panoramic image display system further comprises an annular translucent screen, a projector for rear projecting the panoramic image on the translucent screen, and a flat, conical or curved mirror for reflecting the panoramic image on the translucent screen, and a flat, conical or curved mirror for reflecting the panoramic image from the projector toward the annular screen.</p> |
