Water catcher rail for the sides of vehicle windscreens

This rail (1) for catching water is fitted between the vehicle front windscreen (2) and the A-pillar (3) and consists of a gutter (5) above which is a cover shank (6). The cover shank (6) consists of two layers (13, 14) of material, one above the other, each of a material with a different coefficient of expansion or which react differently to damp. This enables the edge (7) of the cover shank, in warm or damp conditions, to be raised from the surface of the windscreen, thus allowing water from the windscreen (2) to flow into gutter (5).
