Provided herein are compounds of formula (I): wherein D is an aryl or heteroaryl ring containing 1 - 2 C1-4 haloalkoxy groups; as well as stereoisomers and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Such compounds are, because of their ability to antagonize CRF, useful in the treatment of a variety of disorders characterized by excessive CRF expression.
