An articulated arm for robotics, industrial equipment, plant equipment etc. has the various sections made of a hollow frame construction. The supply lines, e.g. power feeds, hydraulic hoses, pneumatic hoses etc. are ducted through the hollow profiles (22-28) and require no external brackets of protective covers. The system allows retrofitting of supply lines without endangering the supply lines. The hollow sections are welded, extruded or cast.
