The invention relates to a device for continuously producing a composite tube (14). A metal tube (9) is produced from a strip material (5) by rolling it up and longitudinally welding it over a plastic inner tube (4). The strip material (5) is rolled up in a shaping station (7) and the rolled-up strip material (5) is welded in a longitudinal welding station (8). For the purpose of linking the plastic inner tube (4) with the metal tube (9) at least one expansion element (21, 24) is provided that is floatingly received by the interior of the tube formed. Said element is anchored by way of a magnetic force and forces the plastic inner tube (4) radially outwards against the inside of the metal tube (9).
