PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress display unevenness and reduce a transfer rate of data in one sub-field. SOLUTION: One field is divided into sub-fields sf0-sf5 having periods corresponding to such weights as bits a, b, c, d of gray scale data and bits h for offset, however, concerning the sub-field sf2 corresponding to LSB of bits (a) and the sub-fields sf3 of 3SB, the periods are enlarged and are set to, for example, the same period as the sub-field sf4 corresponding to bits c of 2SB. And, in the sub-field sf2, write corresponding to bits (a) is held for a period corresponding to the weight of bits (a) and similarly, in the sub-field sf3, write corresponding to bits b is held for s period corresponding to the weight of bits b, and on the other hand, in the other sub-fields, write of the corresponding bits are held over the whole sub-field area.
