A kayak transport device (10) for transporting a kayak, the kayak (12) having a hull with a pair of hull apertures (14a and 14b) for mounting the kayak (12) on the kayak transport device (10). The kayak transport device (10) includes a substantially H-shaped transport frame member (20) having first and second vertical frame members. Each of the first and second vertical frame members having a crossbar member (52) connected thereto, the crossbar members (62) being adjustable relative to each other for adjusting the spacing of the H-shaped transport frame member to correspond to the distance between each of the hull apertures (14a and 14b) on the kayak hull. The first and second vertical frame members include first and second upper strut members, respectively, each having upper strut ends for insertion within each of the hull apertures of the kayak hull for mounting the kayak on the kayak transport device. The first and second vertical frame members also include first and second curved lower strut members, respectively; and a wheel member connected to each of the lower strut members.
