A method for aerolizing a powder utilizes a receptacle (40) having a cavity (20) containing a powder. An access end (46) of an extraction tube (44) is inserted into the cavity (20), and an inlet opening is formed in the receptacle (40). A pressurized gas is flowed through the inlet opening, through the cavity (20) and through the extraction tube (44) to move the powder in the cavity into the extraction tube (44) where the powder is entrained in the gas to form an aerosol.
