<p>The invention provides a method of determining coverage overlap in a cellular wireless telecommunications system and a cellular wireless telecommunications system, including base stations and mobile devices, for determining coverage overlap. A first signal is transmitted from a first base station to a mobile device. If the signal is successfully received, the mobile device transmits a response. A second signal capable of interfering with said first signal is transmitted from a second base station. By recording from the presence or absence of a response from the mobile device whether the mobile device has successfully received the first signal and by repeating the transmission of the first and second signals as required, the coverage overlap between the first and second signals may be determined.</p> |
