PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible tube for an endoscope, which excels in its resistance to chemicals and heat. SOLUTION: The flexible tube of the insertion section 1 of an endoscope has an outer skin 3 covering its periphery. The outer skin 3 of the flexible tube for an endoscope is made of a material containing main polymer and elastomer. Elastomer contains either of silicone rubber or fluororubber, or both. The compounding ratio of elastomer is main polymer of 1 in weight to elastomer of 0.05 to 30 in weight. Main polymer preferably contains at least one of polyurethane thermoplastic elastomer, polyolefin thermoplastic elastomer and polyester thermoplastic elastomer.
