PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability by facilitating the changing of a rice cooking menu, and at the same time, reduce the waste of consumption electricity, and stabilize the cooked up state such as a taste and a hardness. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is equipped with an internal pot which is housed in the main body, a heating means (induction heating coil) which heats the internal pot, a temperature detecting means (temperature sensor) which detects the temperature in the internal pot, a menu setting means (operating section for menu switches) in order to set a desired rice cooking menu from among a plurality of rice cooking menus, and a control means (microcomputer) which controls the heating means in response to the set rice cooking menu and the detected temperature by the temperature detecting means. In such a rice cooker, in a pre-heating process wherein the inside of the internal pot is pre-heated to a specified temperature by the heating means, the rice cooking menu set by the menu setting means is made changeable to a desired other rice cooking menu. Then, the rice cooking is controlled by the control means conforming to the changed rice-cooking menu.
