PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, with low price, a stainless steel container excellent in corrosion resistance, which can retain relish and quality of food and drink for a long period, and also provide a container for kitchen/food and drink enabling improving of decorativeness, and surface treating method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: A container body 1 is molded by using a stainless steel. A titanium oxide film 2 is formed on the inner surface of the container body. A titanium oxide film 3 is formed on the outer surface of the container body. A thickness of the film is prepared and decorative color tones are imparted.
