PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a translucent organic member coated with diamondlike carbon films excellent in translucency and flawing resistance and also excellent in adhesion and particularly suitable for use to automobiles, railway rolling stock, vessels, aircraft, autocycles such as motorcycles and buildings. SOLUTION: In this translucent organic member coated with diamondlike carbon films, a translucent organic member is coated with diamondlike carbon films of two or more layers, the diamondlike carbon film on the side nearest to the translucent organic member has a composition of CHxSiyOzNv where (x), (y), (z) and (v) respectively express molar ratios, and 0.05<=x<=0.7, 0<y<=3.0, 0<=z<=1.0 and 0<=v<=1.0 are satisfied), and the diamondlike carbon film farthest from the translucent organic member has a composition of CHpOqNrFs where (p), (q), (r) and (s) respectively express molar ratios, and 0.05<=p<=0.7, 0<=q<=1.0, 0<=r<=1.0, and 0<=s<=0.2 are satisfied). |
