PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device capable of simultaneously compacting a car body dimension and reducing occupant deceleration is a higher degree. SOLUTION: The occupant crash protection device comprises a seat 1 that is supported movably in the direction of a force applied to a car body in a collision and includes a seat belt 3 for restricting a sitting occupant 2, an inertial mass body (a battery 5 in an embodiment) supported by the car body so as to continue progressing movement up to now when the car body rapidly stops in the collision, and a mutually reverse thrust mechanism (a parallel link 6 in the embodiment) for connecting between the seat and the inertial mass body so as to move the seat reversely to the moving direction of the inertial mass in the collision. Backward acceleration is applied to the seat at the instant when, for example, a progressing vehicle has a head-on collision, so that deceleration higher than car body deceleration is generated in the seat. Therefore, a constraint force of the seat belt for regulating forward movement of the occupant can be increased.
