PURPOSE: A method is provided to prevent the backfire of an LPG engine by controlling an ignition time according to a fixing advanced map when the engine is in a low-speed and high-load area. CONSTITUTION: When an engine is in an operating state, it is determined whether the engine is in a low-speed and high-load area. If the engine is in the low-speed and high-load area, an advanced ignition is carried out by using a fixing advanced map. If the engine is not in the low-speed and high-load area, the advanced ignition is carried out by using a variable advanced map. The low-speed state means that an RPM of the engine is lower than 1192. In addition, the high-load means that the load exceeds a predetermined level.
