PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood treating filter device generating no pressure loss at a time of the treatment of a large quantity of blood and hard to leave blood in a container at a time of the return of blood. SOLUTION: A blood treating filter device 1 is constituted of (1) a filter medium 4, wherein a blood treating filter layer (a) and a sheetlike spacer layer (b) made easier in the flow of blood than the blood treating filter layer (a) are wound in a laminated state and the end part of the spacer layer (b) is exposed to the outer peripheral surface and/or inner peripheral surface of the filter layer (a) and a prefilter layer (c) the air permeability of which is higher than that of the blood treating filter layer (a) but lower than that of the spacer layer (b) is wound so as to cover the exposed part of the spacer layer (b) and both end parts 5 of the filter medium are sealed in a liquidtight manner, and (2) a container 2 having a blood inlet 3 and a blood outlet 6, so that the blood inlet communicates with the filter medium on the side wound by the prefilter layer and the blood outlet communicates with the filter medium 4 on the side opposite to the blood inlet 3, and housing the filter medium 4.
