PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that the pressure contact of a forefinger, a middle finger or the thumb with a hard material such as a metal, plastic or a composite material in a mounting leg and a stem of a spinning reel formed from the hard material is uncomfortable when casting a fishing line. SOLUTION: This fishing reel is provided with a preformed elastic band 52 arranged on a reel stem 32. The elastic band 52 is preferably pulled to either a leg structure or a reel body and then brought into contact with the periphery and the top surface of the reel stem 32. The elastic band 52 provides at least one contact surface 54 on the reel stem 32 for the fingers of a user. The elastic band 52 is preferably formed around the reel stem 32 and brought into contact with the interior of a recessed part having a shape corresponding to the form of the elastic band 52.
