PURPOSE: A heating cooker is provided to improve facility to a user without increasing a part cost by selecting a plurality of operation modes according to the heated state of a foodstuff regardless of boiling and non-boiling of the foodstuff, and selecting to operate into a single operation switch out of the plurality of the operation modes. CONSTITUTION: A heating cooker comprises a heating member(3) for heating a foodstuff contained into a cooking barrel, a boiling detecting member(12) for detecting a boiling of the foodstuff, a timer(15) for controlling an operating time of the heating member, and a controller(11) for selecting a stop mode in which the operation of the heating member stops when the foodstuff is boiled and a timer mode in which the operation of the heating member continues during a certain time by the timer and then stops after lapsing the certain time. A single operation switch(16) for selecting the stop mode or the timer mode is installed. When the operation switch is operated before boiling the foodstuff, the controller operates along a selected mode. When the operation switch is operated after boiling the foodstuff, the controller operates along the timer mode.
