PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating neutral papermaking white water more efficiently and also completely recovering valuable material(s) in the white water. SOLUTION: This method for treating white water comprises adding a copolymer composed of benzyl group-contg. (meth)acrylic cationic monomer unit and (meth)acrylamide derivative cationic monomer unit to neutral papermaking white water.
