PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission with power roller supporting structure that can secure the backup of load acting to the power roller and prevent a stuck out retainer from interfering with input/output disks by stopping a roller bearing with retainer from sticking out from a power roller supporting member even when the power roller repeats the parallel movement to the power roller supporting member. SOLUTION: Between a trunnion 17a and the retainer 96a of a roller bearing 96 with retainer, a bearing stopper structure by a stopper groove 101 is established. The bearing stopper structure is formed in the corresponding position of stopper protrusions 100 formed at both ends positions of plane part of a power roller storing part 91 and a stopper protrusion 100 of a retainer 96a. The quantity of movement in right and left directions of the roller bearing 96 with retainer toward the trunnion 17a is controlled to the scope of movement by a stopper clearance c to right and left directions from a neutral position, respectively.
