PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the acceleration performance of a vehicle the vehicle is stated after it is suddenly stopped. SOLUTION: This automatic transmission control device comprises a drive environment detecting means 91 to detect the drive environment of the vehicle, a condition estimating and determining means 92 to determine whether or not the condition of suddenly stopping the vehicle can be estimated, a waiting condition setting means 93 to set the waiting condition capable of immediately achieving the transmission when a condition of suddenly stopping the vehicle is estimated, a driver operation information detecting means 94 to detect the operation condition of the vehicle, a deceleration determining means 95 to determine whether or not the deceleration is achieved, and a transmission achieving means 96 to achieve the transmission of the automatic transmission with the waiting condition set therein. When the condition of suddenly stopping the vehicle is estimated, deceleration is achieved, and the shift-down transmission is immediately achieved.
