PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact oil separating device usable on board as well as on land for treating the oil from low viscosity to high viscosity, particularly emulsified oil having 100,000 cSt or higher viscosity without clogging the device, treating a large amount of oil-watermixed liquid continuously and treating the oil-water-mixed liquid having a wide range of the oil/water. SOLUTION: This oil separating device 1 is provided with an oil separating tank 10 consisting of the first recovery section 10a and the second recovery section 10b connected continuously to the section 10a, a port 11 for supplying the oil-water-mixed liquid and an oil discharging port 12 in the section 10a, a water discharging port 13 in the section 10b, a taper section 14, whose volume is smaller as it goes to the port 12 side, in an upper separated oil storing section 10bo and interface adjusting means 16a, 16b, 5, 6 for adjusting the positions of the interface S between oil and water.
