METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRAFTED FIBER BY FILM SEALING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing grafted fibers using electron beams for carrying out uniform graft polymerization of a radically polymerizable compound with various kinds of fiber materials even into the interior of fiber filaments. SOLUTION: Uniform fibers having a high graft ratio in which grafting is carried out even into the interior of the fibers can readily be produced by a series of treatments for covering and sealing the fibers and the radically polymerizable compound with a film, irradiating the sealed fibers and radically polymerizable compound with the electron beams and then conducting thermal polymerization even in a solution system where the impregnation of the fibers with the radically polymerizable compound is insufficient.
