PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine automatic starting device adapted to an AT car mounting an idle stop system, which can reduce shock at the time of starting and attain speedy starting. SOLUTION: In this automatic starting device of the present invention, normal starting torque control similar to starting due to an ignition key is executed from the starting of cranking to starting of rotation of a turbine liner, that is, time of play of a torque converter, for speedy starting of engine speed. Low torque control is executed so as to suppress shock applied to a car body until a specified time has passed from the starting of rotation of the turbine liner. After passage of the specified time, the low torque control is gradually released so as to generate creep torque, and shift to the normal starting torque control.
