PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject apparatus capable of efficiently and cleanly washing a horizontal elongated cylindrical die which is used for the application of a coating on a wire at a time of the manufacturing of an enamel wire. SOLUTION: A washing apparatus for a coating applying die has a first ultrasonic washing means wherein an elongated cylindrical die is held to a work set capable of setting the die almost vertically so that the inlet part of the die is set on an upper side and the hole part thereof is set on a lower side and the work set is immersed in the solvent of the washing tank to which an ultrasonic oscillator is attached and a second ultrasonic washing means 14 wherein the work set 2 after the first ultrasonic washing means is held in the air and a solvent 6 is ejected to the inner hole part 1f of the die 1 from a washing nozzle 13 to which an ultrasonic oscillator 11 is attached to perform ultrasonic washing.
