PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a temperature or the like in a container, and accurately control the internal temperature. SOLUTION: This hot-keeping device is constituted of a container (oden pot) 20a which houses foods or the like to be heated, hot-kept and moisture-kept, and a base table 30a on which the container 20a is mounted. A heat-transmitting means 24 transmitting a temperature in the container, one end of which is fixed to the container, and the other end of which is attached in a manner to protrude to the inside of the container, a temperature detecting sensor 35 which is set in a manner to be in contact with the one end of the heat- transmitting means, a heat source 32 which is disposed in the base table, and a heat source controller 33 which controls the heat source are provided. The temperature in the container, which is transmitted by the heat-transmitting means, is detected by the temperature-detecting sensor, and the heat source is controlled based on the detected temperature. As the heat-transmitting means, a heat pipe or the like is used, and by using the heat-transmitting means, the temperature in the container can be accurately guided to the outside of the container. Thus, the temperature in the container itself can be accurately detected, and controlled.
