PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centering jig optimal to centering for a guide rail or the like when an elevator is installed. SOLUTION: In this centering jig B, gage parts 43 of having notch parts 53 engaged with a pair of left and right centering reference lines 70 vertically provided temporarily inside an elevator shaft in the installation of the elevator and having thumb rule parts 71 comprising marks 54, 54a, and chucks 42 for clamp-fixing guide rails 20 vertically provided inside the elevator shaft are arranged respectively in one sideface side and the other sideface side in both ends sides of a main body part 40 having a prescribed length. The gage part 43 is attached detachably and comprises a transparent plate. The jig B is optimal to the execution of the elevator since a position of the reference centering line 70 is allowed to be differed from a conventional method by template.
