PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition composed of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, having excellent appearance and long-run property in melt forming, causing little discoloration in recovery, emitting low odor and giving a laminate having excellent interlaminar adhesivity. SOLUTION: The objective resin composition is composed of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. The MFR (230 deg.C, 10.9 kg load) of the resin composition shows a minimum within 10 hr from the start of heating when the composition is heated at 220 deg.C in nitrogen atmosphere and shows a maximum value (MFRmax) within 100 hr after the minimum value. The composition contains 0.05-4μmol/g of carboxylic acid (A) and satisfies the formula (1) and the formula (2). 0.5<=MFRmax/MFR0<=45 (1), 0.1<=(a1)/(A)<=1.0 (2). In the formulas, MFR0 is the MFR of the resin composition free from heat-treatment, (A) is the total content (μmol/g) of the carboxylic acid (A) and its salt and (a1) is the content (μmol/g) of the carboxylic acid (a1) having a molecular weight of >=75 and its salt.
