PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bottomed cylindrical metal body with a simple constitution in a short time with excellent accuracy. SOLUTION: A method for forming the bottomed cylindrical metal body 10 in which an opening part 12 is formed in the center of a bottom surface 10a, and a notched portion 14 notched from an opening end 10c side is formed at least in a part of a circumferential wall 10b comprises a first pressing process to form a rectangular metal plate with a part of one long side of a pair of long sides parallel to each other notched in square by punching a metal flat plate, a first bending process to bend each end in the longitudinal direction of the metal plate in the same direction, a second bending process to form a cylindrical metal body with the notched portion 14 notched from one opening end side formed at least on a part of the circumferential wall 10b by bending a center portion of the metal plate in the same direction as each end and bringing the bent ends into contact with each other to form the metal plate in a ring shape, and a second pressing process to bend the other opening end side of the cylindrical metal body inwardly over the whole periphery to form the bottom surface 10a with an opening part 12 formed in the center portion.
