PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new biocidal material capable of reducing the amount of biocidal material necessary for suppressing the growth of microorganisms and leaving the residual activity for several weeks. SOLUTION: The objective biocidal material is composed of a water- permeable substrate containing a biocide mixture dispersed in the substrate. The biocide mixture is composed of at least one kind of hydrophilic biocide and at least one kind of hydrophobia biocide. The weight ratio of the hydrophobic biocide to the hydrophilic biocide is >1.
