PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antimicrobial agent capable of being used for various uses for inhibiting growth of oral bacteria, especially an antimicrobial agent suitable for a safe antimicrobial oral composition capable of preventing and inhibiting caries and periodontal diseases and suitable for foods. SOLUTION: This antimicrobial oral composition and foods contain a macrocyclic lactone expressed by general formula (1) (wherein (n) is 1 or 2; a dotted line... is a single bond or either one part of the dotted line part is a double bond) and/or a macrocyclic ketone expressed by general formula (2) (wherein (n) is 0-2 integer, R is H or methyl; a dotted line... is a single bond or either one part of the dotted line part is a double bond).
