1410023 Firing mechanisms LAURONA ARMAS SA 14 Aug 1972 [8 April 1972] 37878/72 Heading F3C A firing mechanism for a semi-automatic firearm comprises a trigger A, a striker C and a sear B which retains the striker C until the trigger is operated. A spring 16 is located between the trigger A and the sear B. The sear B, having an elongate aperture 2 therein, is mounted on a pin for pivotal and translational movement, and is biased by the spring 16 into a position in which, after operation of the trigger A, it allows the striker to return to a position where it will be held by said sear. The spring 16 is mounted on and guided by a pin D one end of which is received in a conical recess 6 formed in the sear B and the other end of which passes through a hole 10 formed in the trigger A. The latter has a hole 9 by which it is pivotally mounted on the firearm (not shown). The striker is pivotally mounted on the firearm and is urged by a spring 15. This causes the sear B to be raised to the position shown in Fig. 1, where a tooth 3 of the sear B engages an extension 1 of the striker C and where a lug 8 of the trigger engages a flat 4 on the sear. When the trigger A is squeezed the tooth 3 releases the extension 1 and the striker C is urged by the spring 15 into contact with a firing pin 14. The sear B is then moved by the spring 16 to the position shown in Fig. 3 so that the lug 8 of the trigger is received in a notch 5, Fig. 1, in the sear and the sear is urged against a flat 18, Fig. 3, of the lug 8. When the striker C is returned by bolt 11, Fig. 1, the tooth 3 of the sear again engages the extension 1 of the striker and, on release of the trigger A, the sear is moved to the position shown in Fig. 1 where the lug 8 of the trigger again engages the flat 4 on the sear B. |
