PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a high sealing performance even in the case the rigidity of a tying part in the suction and exhaust systems of an engine is lessened or the number of tying bolts is decreased. SOLUTION: A metal gasket 1 for the suction and exhaust systems of an engine is furnished with port holes 2 mating with ports of the suction and exhaust systems, a plurality of bolt holes 3 forming sets with the port holes 2 interposed, and ring-shaped beads 4 surrounding each port hole 2, wherein the beads 4 are provided between the sets of the bolt holes 3 and the area ranging out from the region near each bolt hole 3 and shaped stepping in such a way that one inclined part 4c is provided, and therein the inclining angle of the part 4c is minimized and its width is maximized in the part crossing the straight line tying the center point of the sets of bolt holes 3 to the center point of the port holes 2 while the inclining angle of the part 4c is maximized and its width is minimized in the part crossing the straight line outgoing from the center point of the port holes 2 in the direction two dividing the pinching angle of the two adjoining straight lines so that the inclining angle of the part 4c and its width are allowed to vary smoothly between the maximum and the minimum.
