PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To do idling in a short time without wasting stencil paper in printing after printing operation has been stopped for a long time. SOLUTION: In a cam mechanism which brings a cam piece 32 set on a paper cylinder 7 into the clamp action and lifting action of printing paper, a cam 33 is moved so that a printing position for a cam follower roller 34 to contact a left flat part 35, a right flat part 36, a small-diameter part 37, and a largediameter part 39 and an idling position for the roller 34 to contact only the small-diameter part are obtained. Engraved stencil paper M is wound onto a plate cylinder 6, or with previously used stencil paper M wound onto the plate cylinder 6, the cam 33 is arranged at the idling position, with printing paper P supplied to the paper cylinder 7 supported by the clamp piece 32, the rotation of the plate cylinder 6 and the paper cylinder 7 are repeated prescribed times. In this way, idling is done using the stencil paper M used usually in printing. |
