METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CLEANING OF PRINTING PRESS AND AUTOMATIC CLEANING DEVICE USED FOR THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a printing plate and an ink roll smoothly and completely without using a cleaning liquid (though this may be used in a small quantity). SOLUTION: In a method for automatic cleaning of a printing press wherein waste ink is removed from the printing plate of a plate cylinder and the ink roll, a cloth-like body being adsorptive and air-permeable is opposed to the surface of the printing plate or the ink roll, while the printing plate or the ink roll is rotated. Pressurized air being sent to the cloth-like body, the body is brought into close contact with the surface of the printing plate or the ink roll and the waste ink on the surface is thereby adsorbed to be removed.
