PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate such problems that the liquid inside the rear part of a vane produces an abrupt pressure rise, causing a damage to each part and an efficiency is lowered by an increased torque. SOLUTION: In this compressor, back pressure chambers 11a and 11b communicating with a plurality of slit grooves 3 provided in a rotor shaft 1 and capable of holding the fluid such as refrigerant or refrigerating machine oil at the rear part of a vane 2 are provided at least in either of the front and rear closing plates 4 and 10 of a cylinder 7, and a volume in a closed space formed of the cylinder 2, rotor shaft 1, and the front and rear closing plates 4 and 10 is reduced by the vane 2 slid by the rotation of the rotor shaft in the direction of rotation of the rotor shaft 1 so as to force-feed the refrigerant to a discharge chamber 14. A valve 16 for preventing a pressure rise at the rear part of the vane 2 is installed in a part of the back pressure chamber capable of holding the refrigerant or refrigerating machine oil at the rear part of the vane and, when the valve 16 is in the state of being closed, the pressure at the rear part of the vane is held and, when the valve 16 is in the state of being open, the pressure at the rear part of the vane can be opened to the inside of the discharge chamber 14.
