PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pinching accident of fingers when leg sections are opened to assemble a folding footstool. SOLUTION: The upper ends of the leg sections 12, 14 are pivotally fitted to both sides of a top plate section 10, and support members 16 are suspended between the intermediate sections of both leg sections 12, 14. The whole has a structure deformable into a pantograph type, and both leg sections 12, 14 can be opened or closed in this portable folding footstool. A finger pinch preventing protective sheet 20 made of a soft synthetic resin is stretched between the side section of the upper face of the top plate section 10 and the lower face of the top plate section 10 to cover the upper end portion of the leg section 12 on the closing side at an acute angle against the top plate section 10.
