PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pair of stretchable thin man's business socks or women's socks easily wearable and hardly slipping down. SOLUTION: This pair of socks 1 is so designed as to be made of a knitted fabric with an elongation of >=150% under a tensile load of 700 g in the direction of course determined by the grab method; the knitted fabric is composed of upper thread and under thread; wherein the upper thread is a fine thread of 40 count to 60 count double yarn, and the under thread is a high-strength elastic fine thread intertwisted with 30 or 40 denier polyurethane elastic yarn and 14 or 30 denier nylon single yarn. The other objective method for producing the pair of stretchable thin socks 1 is characterized by using fine thread of 40 count to 60 count double yarn for the upper thread of the pair of socks, using high-strength elastic fine thread intertwisted with 30 or 40 denier polyurethane elastic yarn and 14 or 30 denier nylon single yarn for the under thread thereof, and coarsely knitting its meshes through a gauge of about 144 stitches with a cylinder diameter of 4 inches followed by shrinking the resultant knitted fabric through heat treatment.
