PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resol type phenol resin composition in which the reduction of formaldehyde generated from a resol phenol resin is efficiently achieved. SOLUTION: This resol type phenol resin composition is characterized by adding at least on kind selected from hydrazide compounds in an amount of 0.01-10 pts.wt. based on the 100 pts.wt. of the resol phenol resin.
