PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maleimide-based resin film having flexibility and excellent in heat resistance and mechanical strengths and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing a maleimide-based resin film is to mix a powdery maleic acid analogue with a powdery diamine in a molar ratio of 1:1 in a solid state, heat-treat the mixture at 80-200 deg.C in the solid state to obtain the maleimide-based resin, pulverize the resin to be powder having a maximum particle size equal to or less than a coating thickness, subsequently, directly coat the powdery maleimide resin on a base material, form a film by heating at a temperature higher than that of the initial heating temperature, peel off the film from the base material and draw the film at 80-250 deg.C.
