PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency stop method for a delivering and transporting device for an article eliminating the contact and collision with the article at emergency stop, securing a prescribed distance between the articles, and facilitating the restart of the operation. SOLUTION: When receiving an emergency stop signal, an emergency stop control circuit 405 makes a delivering timing control calculation part 404 issue a cutting stop signal. The control circuit calculates a lug time td and makes a start stop control circuit 408 operate a time carrying conveyor 300 of the lug time td ordinarily and decelerate later so that an appropriate interval of the articles delivered before the emergency stop can be secured.
