PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply mechanism in a serial printer which can supply ink from a main ink tank to an ink supply stand by a constant ink supply pressure at all times with an emphasis being placed on making the entire serial printer compact. SOLUTION: The main ink tank is separated to a first liquid chamber 9-1 and a second liquid chamber 9-b. The ink in the first liquid chamber is supplied to the second liquid chamber so as to maintain a state in which the ink in the second liquid chamber overflows. The ink overflowing from the second liquid chamber returns to the first liquid chamber. The ink of the second liquid chamber is supplied to the ink supply stand placed to a lower position than an ink head face of the second liquid chamber. |
