PURPOSE: A liquid crystal composition for an optically anisotropic sheet and a compound used in the composition are provided, to obtain an optically anisotropic sheet having an expanded angle of visibility. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal composition comprises a polymerizable discotic compound represented by the formula 1, 2 or 3 and a polymerizable non-discotic compound represented by (X)_n1D1£O-(L1)s1-P1|k1, (Y)_n2D2£O-(L2)s2-P2|k2 or (Z)_n3D3£O-(L3)s3-P3|k3, wherein D1, D2 and D3 are a benzene or naphthalene ring; X, Y and Z are H or an alkyl or alkoxy group of C1-C12; k1, k2 and k3 are 1, 2 or 3 and k1+n1, k2+n2 and k3+n3 are 6 when D1, D2 and D3 is a benzene ring, and k1, k2 and k3 are 1, 2 or 3 and k1+n1, k2+n2 and k3+n3 are 8 when D1, D2 and D3 are a naphthalene ring; and s1 is 0 or 1.
