<p>A planar reflector to reflect incident infrared radiation is arranged in parallel with photovoltaic segments (16,18,20,22,24), at distance corresponding to odd multiple of quarter of effective wavelength of incident radiation. An infrared detection signal is produced between aluminum conductor (12) and ground plane layer interconnecting the segments. Aluminum conductor (12) and aluminum ground plane layer interconnect portions of varying conductivities of photovoltaic segments (16,18,20,22,24). The cell has equally spaced apart photovoltaic segments (16,18,20,22,24) which are interconnected by transverse segment (14). The photovoltaic segments are arranged in parallel with periodic spacing equal to or less than wavelength of incident infrared radiation. Each segment has p-n junction between respective portions of varying conductivities and extending along the length of the segment. The planar reflector reflects infrared radiation in response to which an output infrared detection signal is transmitted between aluminum conductor and aluminum ground plane layers connected to respective portions of segments.</p> |
