PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the outer panel rear surface of a front pillar from interfering with a front door and effectively absorb and moderate the impact applied to the front pillar without disturbing the deformation of the front pillar. SOLUTION: An outer panel 34 is formed thinner than an inner panel 33, and a valley groove 34d recessed to a cylinder is formed on the rear surface 34c facing a front door 16, so that the outer panel 34 is deformed more significantly than the inner panel 33 when a backward large external force acts on the front surface 34a, and the valley groove 43d is crushed, whereby the backward movement of the rear surface 34c can be reduced.
