This invention relates to the identification of complementary peptides from the analysis of protein and nucleotide sequence databases from higher eukaryote genomes excluding human and plants. These specific complementary peptides interact with their relevant target proteins encoded in the eukaryote genome. Specific complementary peptides to the proteins encoded in the eukaryote genome can be used as reagents and drugs from drug discovery programmes and as lead ligands to facilitate drug design and development.
