<p>The paper web passes from the filtration screen to an endless felt band passing around a sieve doffing roller, the roller having an inner chamber to which suction is applied to such the web against the felt. The roller has a second chamber at a higher pressure so that as the web passes around the sieve roller and between a nip defined between the sieve roller and a presser roller, the web is released from the felt and passes over the presser roller. The felt pref. passes between squeezer rollers to remove excess liquid. The moisture content of the felt is kept small.</p> |
